The JOURNEY AS WICYPAA

"The Only Requirement For Membership - Desire". Desire launched us in 1994 to begin WICYPAA's journey in Milwaukee.
In 1995 we were "Rocketed Into A 4th Dimension Of Which We Had Not Even Dreamed" as WICYPAA took us to new heights of enthusiasm, service and friendships.
1996 shared with us a "Design For Living That Really Works."
In 1997 we traveled west to Madison for the first time where we were reminded to "Keep It Simple."
We realized coming together in 1998 that we were "Alone No More" which kept us connected on our quest.
In a surprising turn of events, Advisory tirelessly brought us together in 1999 to show us that "It Works It Really Does!"
Into the new millennium our strength lay in "Unity Through Attraction." Our future rests in the hands of the next generation of young AA leaders.
We were once again "Rocketed Into A 4th dimension" in 2001.
Although we didn't land gently, our loving and dedicated advisors picked us up, and WICYPAA 2002 realized it's "Simple But Not Easy" and helped us recommit to keeping the spark of enthusiasm alive and strong.
WICYPAA embraced new members and our work began in 2003 while we "Trudge The Road of Happy Destiny" with our newfound friends.
In 2004, it was imperative for the growth of WICYPAA to build a "Safe Haven" for all to come to, learn from, and believe in.
AA's three legacies Unity, Recovery and Service showed us in 2005 how "Our Common Welfare Should Come First" and that personal recovery does affect AA as a whole.
2006 brought us "My Chance To Live" and we learned to build the fellowship we crave by giving back what was so freely given to us.
This lesson was re-emphasized in 2007 when "We Ceased Fighting Anything Or Anyone.”
WICYPAA’s mission has always been to show young people how to replace booze with fun and laughter. If young people could see no joy or fun in our existence, they wouldn't want it, so in 2008 we showed that "We Are Not A Glum Lot" in Green Bay.
"Our Roots Grasped New Soil" in 2009 in Oconomowoc, teaching us how to live, not just survive.
In 2010, WICYPAA grew a new spine in the Wisconsin Dells and stood up to teach the young at heart that "Life Will Mean Something At Last".
By discovering that "Alone We're Weak, Together We're Strong" WICYPAA united young people like never before in Wales in 2011.
In Madison, we found "A Sense Of Belonging" in 2012. No longer separate, we watched each other transform into a new family.
In 2013, we celebrated 20 years of showing Young People in AA that life can take on new meaning when you are "living in the answer."
As we came together, both old timers and enthusiasts, in 2014, we walked together hand-in-hand "In The Sunlight At Last".
Basking in the rays of the sun we saw our fellowship grow into new territory. In 2015, the bonds across the state were strengthened as Eau Claire showed us, "We Are Never Alone."
WICYPAA had succeeded in uniting both Area 74 and 75 in reaching young people in AA, thus in 2016, the Promises came true and we were shown "A New Freedom" in Middleton.
With our new freedom, a new experience of God's light shined through and in Milwaukee in 2017 we walked in "The Sunlight Of The Spirit."
In 2018, WICYPAA brought us to La Crosse where we celebrated a quarter-century escaping disaster as we continued to "Trudge The Road Of Happy Destiny!"
We learned to combine calamity with serenity in 2019 in Milwaukee through "Insidious Insanity."
Then, in 2020, our sight cleared with "A Vision For You,” in the Wisconsin Dells.
Alas, there was more trouble around the corner when, a month after 2020’s conference, AA and WICYPAA, along with the rest of the world, incurred challenges due to a worldwide pandemic. WICYPAA 28, hosted by Milwaukee, saw that “The Effect Was Electric” and electric it was, as we met for our first-ever virtual conference in 2021.
Though the pandemic carried on, AA members young at heart and spirit joined together in-person again, connected like never before in 2022 when we found that WICYPAA and our fellowship is the “Bright Spot Of Our Lives.”
Beaming with gratitude, for our 30th anniversary in 2023, we gathered in Eau Claire where we remembered just “How Dark It Is Before The Dawn.”
Returning for the first time in over 20 years, in 2024 we knew you’d find that “Your Imagination Will Be Fired” by the Oshkosh host committee. Next year, we hope you’ll continue on this journey with us.
WICYPAA 32 made its triumphant return to Waukesha, powering through the cyclone of “The Mental Twist,” emerging stronger and more determined than ever to carry the message.
